Cape Ann Bridge Block

Finally… we landed them! Our sourcing experts here at Olde New England Granite have rescued over 100,000 tons of Cape Ann granite bridge block!

The granite from this 100+ year old Boston area bridge was originally used as abutment block and was also set on the side embankments for erosion control.

Our patience paid off, as it took two and a half years of tracking from start to finish, to have this granite land in our yard.

  • Amongst this grouping we found the “full range” of Cape Ann Quarry colors — Light Gray, Dark Gray, Rose, Olive Green from the Blood Ledge Quarry, Sea Mist Green from the Bay View Quarry.
  • Due to an original high quality split, these blocks range from semi-dimensional to extremely rare dimensional material.
  • All sides were hand split – back in the day.
  • Original feather and wedge tool marks visible.

Here are some ways you can use these beautiful bridge blocks:

  • Wall Block
  • Driveway Entry Pieces
  • Light Posts, Engraved Address Posts, Gate Posts, Sign Posts
  • Water Feature Pieces
  • Seat Wall Benches (18″-24″)
  • Use your imagination!
