Inventory Update – Bridge Veneer Block July 2025

Bridge Veneer Block

We are beginning to reclaim granite veneer blocks from bridges that are close to their typical 100-year life span that are now due for upgrade or replacement.

The introduction and idea of using half the amount of granite as veneer block in the design of bridges offers several advantages. The combination of concrete and granite veneer in bridges creates a strong and durable structure. Also, the cost of the granite was cut in half while keeping the natural look and wonderful aesthetic appeal.

About these blocks:

  • The faces of these monster slabs are being salvaged in excellent condition.
  • Large quantities of 3’ high x 5’ long x 12″ +/- thick at the top and 15″ +/- thick at the bottom. Approx. weight 2800 lbs.
  • Smaller quantities of 3’ high x 4’ long x 12″ +/- thick at the top and 15″ +/- thick at the bottom are also available. Approx. weight 2250 lbs.
  • Corner pieces 3’ high x 5’ long x 12″ +/- thick
    Several truckloads available

Applications:

  • Can be re-used as veneer, the same way in which it was used here on the bridge.
  • Ideal as single course retaining wall with optional cap – We suggest using some reclaimed granite curbing laid flat.

Features:

  • All four sides have smooth edges for ease of close fit and cozy up tight to next piece.
  • Nice aesthetics – has attractive black and white speckled grain.
