Inventory Update – Bridge Pier Block – Feb. 2021
Olde New England Granite’s involvement with a Decade of Bridges
1888 – Essex Merrimac Drawbridge, Dismantled in 2010
1900 – Longfellow Bridge, Rehabbed in 2014-2019
1912 – North Washington Street Bridge, Dismantled in 2020
1912 – Fox Hill Bridge, Dismantled in 2021
All four of these bridges used Rockport granite for their pier blocks. However, only the Fox Hill Bridge used 100% of the beautiful “Sea Mist” blue/green granite quarried exclusively at the Bay View Quarry in Rockport, MA.
